Periplum's The Witching Hour has been nominated for 'Outstanding Contribution to the Arts' in Wirral Life Magazine.
From the stories & memories of park rangers, council workers, youth groups and the brilliant spirit of people across the Wirral, myths & legends of local life were shaped into a large-scale outdoor theatre show in the beautiful surroundings of Birkenhead park.
The Witching Hour was part of Wirral Borough of Culture 2019. It was free for the masses to attend, and they came in their thousands…

Periplum is grateful to have been awarded Arts Council England funding to create The Glass Ceiling, marking 100 years since the first women were allowed the parliamentary vote in the UK in 1918. Inspired by the suffragettes and suffragists as innovators of direct action, the work will tour across the Tees Valley with support from the SIRF, Tees Valley Combined Authority and 5 Borough Councils – Stockton, Darlington, Redcar & Cleveland, Hartlepool and Middlesbrough. It will premiere at Stockton International Riverside Festival on 3 rd August 2018.2/4/2018
Fireflight, created in 2017, has been nominated for The Journal Culture Awards as Best Event Sunderland. The piece was co-commissioned by The Cultural Spring and made with the participation of 100 Sunderland participants to mark the opening of the city&'s new arts venue, The Fire Station. Creative partners also included Live Theatre, Sunderland Music Hub and Dance City.2/4/2018
Periplum's Artistic Directors Claire Raftery & Damian Wright have been selected to take part in the Sura Medura artists' residency in Sri Lanka from February-March 2018.
Periplum are presenting 451 at Ulica Festival in Krakow, Poland, on 6th July 2017 in front of the Galeria Krakowska. Footage from 451 can be found here.
In May Periplum created an act of wonder as part of Hull 2017's secret Land of Green Ginger project. Bringing to life a local legend, '7 Alleys' took place in the heart of East Hull, the culmination of a 10-month process working with the amazing communities of Preston Road. Audience followed a horse-and-carriage in search of the magical 7th Alley portal that opens at midnight. Here's a little footage, more to follow.4/5/2017
