Periplum’s residencies in Imaginative Space are a perfect forum to explore alternative ways of creating & staging innovative new work, animating practitioner studies or making radical interpretations of an existing text.

We promote experimentation, invention & adventure, helping participants develop devising skills and achieve an expanded insight into the possibilities of performance. Working collaboratively with the workshop group, we explore cultural, contemporary & historic themes based on social observation or born from participants’ creative imagination. Participants train in physical, vocal/textual & visual theatre techniques, working as a team to explore dynamic staging and bring locations to life. We encourage all who take part to contribute to the dialogue of ideas and to make the most of exploring the potential of a location.

Creative Residency into Performance

Our residencies often lead to exciting public performances. The project can take place on your campus or at a specially identified site, drawing inspiration from and animating the space. Periplum have run residencies & facilitated performances in churches, parks, hotels, the streets, an abandoned coffee plantation, the beach, and many other locations.

With minimal production resources Periplum can guide, support & direct the creation process to a challenging & rewarding performance.
