Arquiem

The BellArtaud 1000 Revolutions Crowley Rasputin

"Crackling with dark energy."
Dorothy Max Prior, Total Theatre

Night is falling. A medieval cart is wheeled through town. The streets resound with the sounds of an avenging crowd as a young man recants and cries for an innocence lost. This is Arquiem: a first-love story, a murder ballad and a cautionary tale - a powerful outdoor promenade performance inspired by Blake's Songs of Innocence & Experience and Browning's poem Porphyria's Lover.

Arquiem features pulsating music, stilts, pyrotechnics, acrobatics and beautifully crafted mobile structures. Periplum use vibrant text and a powerful visual performance style to tell this simple story of a boy who murders his love to preserve the memory of one moment forever.

The show is available for touring. A video and full publicity package is available on request.
